Overview

This internship is within the Digital Strategy Section of the Communication Division of UNEP, responsible for digital communications activities including social media, web, internal communications, and the library/knowledge repository. The intern will support editorial, support, and technical tasks under the supervision of the Chief of Digital Strategy.


Key Responsibilities
  • Research, compile, draft and edit basic information for online content.
  • Review existing content for edits.
  • Advise and take part in reporting activities, analytics and creation of dashboards.
  • Manage meeting agendas and draft meeting notes.
  • Create presentations and training curricula.
  • Carry out research tasks and provide inputs into digital strategy planning and activities.
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Take part in knowledge repository/taxonomy clean-up, indexing, and related work.
Required Experience

No working experience is required. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. Experience in Dspace is a plus (but not required).

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Preferred areas of studies: Communication, International affairs, or environment-related field preferred. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
