Overview
The Staff Officer (Joint Logistic Support Network Manager) is responsible for planning, developing, and managing projects of the Regional Plan-Centre (RP-C) Joint Logistic Support Network (JLSN) to support NATO operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop and manage of the Regional Plan-Centre (RP-C) Joint Logistics Support Network (JLSN) Projects.
- Be responsible for identifying processes and requirements for JLSN development in order to meet new Logistics Concepts in support of NATO Exercises and Missions.
- Support the development of Regional Plans and DDA family of plans activities.
- Identify and support all Enablement activities for the JLSN in support of deployment and sustainment of large scale of forces in JFCBS/JTF JOA and in coordination with other JFC/JTF for cross JOA operations.
- Develop, maintain and adjust requirements of the JLSN to the new Concepts as NATO Collective Logistics and how to support the New Force Model, including also the Allied Reaction Force (ARF).
- Prepare and conduct briefings, background papers/ talking points to include, briefings to JFCBS Command Group (CG).
- Conduct coordination meetings with key external planning agents, including, amongst others, subordinate commands, NATO and Partner Nations, and the EU Military Staff in order to establish procedures to enable JLSN in the JFCBS/JTF Area of Responsibility and to coordinate it with the other JFC/JTF JLSNs to support Regional Plans (RP), Deterrence and Defence of the Euro-Atlantic Area (DDA) activities and other NATO operations/ exercises/ activities.
- Keep extant plans, policies and concepts within the Branch’s auspices under review and presents recommendations for change, as appropriate.
- Support and develop operational military vision documents, strategic initiatives, think-pieces and non-papers, JLSN operations plans, operational policies, concepts and directives for the full range of Alliance missions.
- Contribute to staff development induction and training initiatives for the Branch as well as to support OPSA from the Logistics point of view at the operational level and for each mission, operation and activity.
- Co-ordinate planning, conduct of, and reporting from planning conferences.
- Contribute to development of exercise related operational and strategic planning documents.
- Participate in exercises at the HQ level.
- Respond to actions and request of authorities within ACO to improve the JFCBS/JTF readiness for the NATO new spectrum of operations and missions and apply concepts in development as NATO Collective Logistics and Sustainment.
- Make decisions within the assigned sub-functional area.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in a logistic role within a large international organization.
- Minimum 2 years professional experience in supply chain and/ or transportation management including experience using software related to logistic planning and operations.
Qualifications
University Degree or equivalent in related field / discipline. (equivalent is Higher Secondary Education AND completed advanced vocational training in relevant field leading to a professional certification or accreditation).
