Overview
The role is responsible for managing warehouse operations, including receiving, dispatching, and verifying goods to ensure operational quality and minimize losses, adhering to WFP warehousing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently receive/dispatch goods, including trans-shipment, based on approved documents, ensuring accuracy of physical count and quality.
- Prepare, verify, and sign warehouse and transport documents, maintaining accurate records of warehouse transactions.
- Reconcile warehouse closing and conduct inventory checks to support internal controls.
- Inspect goods for quantity and quality, detect and analyze stock discrepancies/damages, investigate missing quantities, and report losses with recommended solutions.
- Implement measures to protect food and non-food items, ensuring quality control and preventive measures.
- Monitor warehouse and product conditions, ensuring efficient space planning and organized storage.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and training to warehouse staff.
- Perform any other assigned tasks by the supervisor.
Required Experience
- At least 4 years of professional experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Experience using logistics databases for routine report extraction.
- Experience managing warehouses with food and essential items.
- Experience in inventory management.
- Experience in processing invoices.
- Experience in receiving and dispatching stocks is desirable.
Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma.
- A post-secondary certificate in the relevant functional area is desirable.
