Overview

Support communication activities related to humanitarian engagement with the Government of Kuwait and partners. Contribute to the development of communication products and dissemination of social media material.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of communication products on humanitarian needs targeting specific audience
  • Assists in the planning of events organized / co-organized by OCHA in Kuwait.
  • Develops and disseminates social media material on OCHA-Kuwait partnerships.
  • Support in coordinating meetings and consultations with partners in the country.
  • Draft summaries, meeting minutes and reports.
  • Performs any other administrative work as required.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Program are not required to have professional work experience. However, an experience in Communications and media, or other related field is desirable.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); in communication and media or other related fields. (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in communication and media.

Languages Required
Fluency in reading, speaking, understanding and writing in English and Arabic is required.
Languages Preferred
Ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts is desirable. Ability to design surveys and polls is desirable.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
