Overview

Support Mine Action Information Management through the development and maintenance of IM products, collaborating with partners and drafting reports to assist operational planning and inform decision makers. Requires detailed understanding of GIS processes for spatial analysis and visualization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise for mine action data systems development, reviewing data needs and gaps, evaluating GIS processes and tools.
  • Maintain established protocols and procedures of the project’s data manager system, ensuring data integrity and quality.
  • Utilize mine action data to support analytical and operational work.
  • Maintain and update existing data analysis tools and GIS products, and establish project dashboards and data reporting mechanisms.
  • Monitor and maintain the IM portal and shared databases.
  • Maintain data collection process and methodologies, updating GIS database systems monthly.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure availability of updated and quality information.
  • Conduct data analysis of GIS data on work streams.
  • Assist in preparation of regular reports and presentations.
  • Support the continuing development of data products, including maps, charts, and infographics.
  • Coordinate with other IM specialists to ensure interoperability and data sharing.
  • Ensure shared project databases, metadata and dashboards are up to date.
  • Provide IM and GIS support by drafting products such as reports, presentation templates, charts and infographics.
  • Facilitate the exchange and analysis of data among relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a dissemination plan for all products.
  • Coordinate with Operational Information Management (OIM) unit and IM counterparts of partners.
  • Participate in relevant mine action sectoral IM working groups.
Required Experience

At least one year of postgraduate professional relevant experience in Information Management, preferably in the international humanitarian NGOs, civil service, government, social impact organizations and/or similar corporations. Professional demonstratable experience in a mine action context is required. Additional years of relevant professional experience is an asset.

Qualifications

University degree in information management, computer science, or a related field.
