Overview

Assist with risk management activities, support the application of controls and compliance with policies and procedures, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of operations and optimization of WFP resources.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with embedding risk management in planning and decision-making.
  • Regularly update risk registers and track progress on mitigation actions.
  • Support the collection of feedback and data on risk performance.
  • Perform initial research for potential improvements.
  • Support risk assessments at country and field levels.
  • Assist in drafting mitigation actions and preparing risk information for reporting.
  • Liaise with functional experts to identify trends and emerging issues.
  • Draft specific checklists in conformity with WFP policies and rules.
  • Use risk management tools to compile findings from surveys and oversight missions.
  • Analyze risk data to support drafting risk management sections in country strategic plans and Annual Country Reports.
  • Gather information on training needs to support delivery of training programmes.
  • Assist First Line colleagues in drafting specific sections of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for managing risk and accountability.
  • Support the collection and review of specific inputs for the annual Executive Director’s Assurance Exercise survey.
  • Assist managers in preparing for Internal Audit and External Audit.
  • Support the promotion and dissemination of the Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption (AFAC) Policy.
  • Assist managers in fact-finding reviews and fraud risk assessments.
  • Support training in AFAC standards.
  • Perform other duties as required, potentially serving as BCM and OCI focal point.
Required Experience

Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in risk management, audit, monitoring and/or related fields, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development. Has contributed to risk management activities and participated in risk analysis and risk mitigation initiatives. Has conducted monitoring and reporting activities, has knowledge of results hierarchy, performance metrics and measurement. Has participated in conversations with other units on impact, timing or planning initiatives. Basic knowledge of governance and organizational structures.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area. University degree is desirable.
