Security Officer - NOA - Beledwayne

Overview

Contribute to the security and safety of WFP facilities and staff by supporting security planning, liaising with UNDSS, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to security and continuity planning for the office.
• Liaise with UNDSS and attend security operations management meetings.
• Provide operational support for Minimum Operational Security Standards (MOSS) and Minimum Operational Residential Security Standards (MORSS) compliance.
• Manage facilities access control measures and procedures.
• Support the management of the security budget and procurement planning.
• Manage security equipment.
• Maintain liaison with Human Resources regarding security staffing matters.
• Collect information on local security developments and potential impact on WFP Operations.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports.
• Provide security orientation briefings to new staff.
• Support training activities to build security capabilities.
• Support the supervisor during emergencies.

Required Experience

At least one (1) year of relevant experience with advanced University Degree OR First University degree with a minimum of three (3) or more years of experience in managing complex security operations, preferably in conflict or post-conflict settings. Proven experience in engaging armed actors, government bodies, and communities to facilitate humanitarian access. Skilled in team management, mentoring junior staff, and supervising contracted services in high-risk settings.

Qualifications

Advanced University degree in Security Management, International Relations or Law Enforcement or other relevant field, OR First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
