Overview

The position will support the operational implementation of Nutrition programmes and activities, including the nutrition surveillance system, as well as monitoring and quality assessment of interventions aimed at managing severe malnutrition and childhood obesity.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the implementation of national nutrition programmes.
  • Collaborate with concerned government counterparts on public health programmes related to nutrition and provide technical assistance.
  • Undertake research and data collection on nutrition related public health topics.
  • Contribute to the drafting of new public health guidelines, and revision of existing policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in the coordination and organization of relevant workshops, meetings, conferences, and other events.
  • Contribute to community outreach activities concerning the extension of health-care networks and other nutrition related activities.
  • Act as a focal point for the area of nutrition.
  • Provide technical support in the planning of WHO emergency and humanitarian nutrition activities.
  • Ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of biennial workplans.
Required Experience

At least one year of relevant professional experience in the development and implementation of health programmes at the national or subnational level in the field of nutrition and food security. Desirable: Experience in addressing nutrition from the perspective of preventing noncommunicable diseases. Experience or sound knowledge of the WHO mandate and goals in humanitarian health crisis, or experience in UN organizations/agencies, international institutions, or NGOs.

Qualifications

University degree in nutrition or health sciences with a focus on nutrition, obtained from a recognized university. Desirable: Advanced degree (master's degree or PhD) in nutrition, or public health with a focus on nutrition, or a relevant area. Advanced training in facility-based management of severe malnutrition, nutrition surveillance, and communications.

Remuneration
annual base salary starting at IDR 547,860,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
