Overview

Support the Government of Indonesia in strengthening the national response to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) through the development and implementation of evidence-based programs. Facilitate the implementation of NCD prevention and control projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with government counterparts, partners, and WHO colleagues to coordinate NCD prevention and control initiatives.
  • Provide technical advice to national authorities on multisectoral action plans and policies for NCD prevention and control.
  • Offer technical input on planning and developing country-focused multisectoral action for NCDs and their risk factors.
  • Participate in drafting NCD-related guidelines, protocols, training materials, and strategic plans.
  • Analyze and evaluate NCD-related topics, data, and information to contribute to public health programs.
  • Work with governments and the WCO Health System Strengthening team to integrate NCD prevention and management into primary health care.
  • Produce technical briefs, donor reports, and strategic communication materials.
  • Coordinate with other program areas within the WHO country office to integrate NCD interventions.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality implementation of biennial workplans.
Required Experience

At least two (2) years of combined working experience in i) the development and implementation of policies and programmes for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, and ii) primary health care service delivery for chronic diseases. Desirable: Clinical experience in primary health care settings. Experience in the design and delivery of trainings on NCDs and their risk factors, development of policies or clinical guidelines for prevention and management of NCDs. Experience of working with UN agencies or international development organizations.

Qualifications

Essential: A university degree in Health (medicine or public health) with a specialization relevant to non-communicable disease prevention and control. Desirable: Advanced university degree in Health (medicine or public health), with a specialization relevant to non-communicable disease prevention and control.

Remuneration
Annual base salary starting at IDR 734,133,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
