Overview

The Senior Livelihood Economic Inclusion Associate will support the operationalization of strategic vision to align livelihoods and economic inclusion efforts with the Global Compact on Refugees, enhancing economic inclusion and improving self-reliance of persons of concern and host community members.


Key Responsibilities
  • Explore partnerships to facilitate economic inclusion.
  • Provide technical assistance on market-based livelihoods interventions.
  • Coordinate with other UNHCR sectors to integrate protection safeguards.
  • Support regular information sharing and coordination among stakeholders.
  • Evaluate concept notes and project documents.
  • Support identification and management of risks and opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience

4 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher. Experience in facilitating the economic inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized groups in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ideally in varied field contexts. Experience in working in partnership with private sector, NGOs, UN organisations, development actors, and government authorities in sub-sectors relevant to livelihood programming. Prior exposure to UNHCR refugee operations and functions relating to office administration and programme activities is desirable. Knowledge about latest development in the livelihoods sector, including broader UN processes on the SDGs and the Global Compact on Refugees is desirable. Completion of UNHCR learning programmes or specific training relevant to functions of the position is desirable. Knowledge and expertise in strengthening the resilience of agricultural production systems at the farm level (Essential). Experience in the development and coordination of the monitoring and evaluation system of agricultural and entrepreneurship projects (essential). Relevant experience in hydroagricultural development projects and their environmentally friendly agricultural development (Is desirable). Experience of Animation, development and upgrading of agricultural and non-agricultural cooperatives: support, organizational and institutional strengthening, and technical, support for the development of Business Plan (is desirable).

Qualifications

Business Management, Socio-Economics Development, Economics/International Economics, Rural Development, Financial Management, Agriculture or other relevant field.
