Overview
This role involves supporting the National Works Specialist and Coordinating Engineer in the analysis and evaluation of the physical infrastructure of schools, focusing on geotechnical and foundation engineering aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in technical and management control meetings to report progress.
- Support the elaboration of Project Requirements for diagnosis and infrastructure project review.
- Compile proposals for diagnosis items, technical and sustainability guidelines.
- Analyze, review, and suggest adjustments in geotechnical engineering projects.
- Prepare reports and technical opinions on foundation structure and geotechnics projects.
- Analyze and review budget spreadsheets, works programming, and schedules.
- Formulate guidelines for soil investigation/evaluation projects and engineering projects.
- Formulate guidelines for the execution and inspection of works.
- Elaborate guidelines for project proposals, engineering contracts, and feasibility studies.
- Analyze, review, and propose changes to technical graphic project drawings.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques to propose solutions to geotechnical and foundation engineering problems.
- Provide technical guidance to draftsmen, designers, and engineers.
- Execute other technical support tasks as necessary.
- Prepare progress reports and other requested reports.
- Prepare and participate in meetings, site visits, and support activities.
- Contribute to the updating and compilation of technical project documents.
- Align results with demands and activities assigned to the social specialist.
- Work jointly with other specialist consultants and the operational team.
- Support the operational team to bid, contract, and update contracts.
- Elaborate technical presentations and formally present products and activities.
- Participate in meetings and prepare Meeting Minutes.
- Visit land, existing buildings, school units, and communities.
- Maintain documented individual production for requested products.
Required Experience
Possess between 02 years of progressively responsible experience in infrastructure and geotechnical engineering projects, preferably with earthmoving, geotechnical characterization, shallow and deep foundation structures, slope containment structures, and geotechnical design. Experience in public sector projects is desirable. Previous experience in the UN system or other international organizations is desirable.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with respective registration in the Professional Class Council is required. Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Foundations Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field is desirable. Extension and/or training in infrastructure projects in the school area will be considered a differential.
