Overview
The Information Technology Associate will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of IT systems and hardware, and implementing ICT requirements for IOM Chad.
Key Responsibilities
- Assure installation of approved software systems on servers and workstations.
- Install new hardware, including PCs, laptops, servers, printers, and software.
- Maintain installed software, ensuring updates are applied and performing optimizations.
- Ensure end-user requests and constraints related to software and other ICT components are resolved.
- Assist in ensuring ICT components are executed according to organizational rules and procedures.
- Support staff awareness of IOM ICT regulations and standards.
- Manage email user accounts and distribution lists.
- Provide first-level assistance to users and resolve issues related to access, online connection, file storage, and application functionality.
- Act as the first point of contact for staff when collecting new and replacement hardware.
- Identify faulty devices and take necessary actions for replacement.
- Maintain a log or list of repairs and required maintenance.
- Assist in the maintenance of IOM computers, peripherals, and network devices.
- Maintain inventory of IT hardware.
- Monitor stock levels and alert supervisor when low thresholds are reached.
- Identify and prepare hardware for disposal.
- Track requests for ICT equipment purchases.
- Test new equipment and report to the mission ICT chief.
- Perform backups of user and server data.
- Ensure IT standards are maintained and identify IT issues.
- Diagnose and resolve any hardware, software, or connectivity issues.
- Provide support to the Telerad system, file server, PACS server, and iCRco_XC software.
- Ensure workstation/server hardware functions correctly.
- Manage PABX and communication systems.
- Perform any other tasks assigned.
Required Experience
- Five years of relevant experience in the ICT field, including operational and field experiences.
- Ability to work with an established IT help desk – communication by phone and email.
- Good knowledge of Windows operating system and networks, VOIP and Skype for Business installations and other IOM-approved software, as needed.
Qualifications
- University degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Five years of professional experience with a secondary school diploma or secondary education or three years of professional experience with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or in any other related field.
