Overview

The role of a Legal Analyst is to support IFC's activities in various regions by preparing and reviewing legal documentation, assisting in transactions, and performing portfolio administration.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external matters, including powers of attorney, proxies, signature designations, counsel retainer letters, and Article III notices.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing legal documentation for debt, equity, or funds, and prepare routine amendments, consents, and waivers.
  • Lead smaller transactions semi-independently.
  • Review confidentiality agreements and other business development documents.
  • Liaise with external counsel.
  • Attend to the signing of transaction documents and completion of conditions to disbursement.
  • File all transaction documents.
  • Perform routine portfolio administration of debt and equity investments.
  • Handle and review transaction documents for upstream and advisory programs.
  • Support on local currency offerings and treasury products.
  • Identify and analyze legal and policy issues associated with projects.
  • Contribute to Knowledge Management objectives.
Required Experience

Ideally professional experience of 2-3 years in a law firm and/or several years of relevant experience in assisting counsels with preparation and handling of legal documentation in a paralegal or similar capacity.

Qualifications

An undergraduate (college) degree, preferably in the legal field.
