Overview

Responsible for the strategic oversight, technical quality, and operational management of case management and MHPSS services in Darfur, including supervision of staff and coordination with partners.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of integrated case management and MHPSS services.
  • Develop and regularly update case management SOPs, MHPSS protocols, referral pathways, and service mapping tools.
  • Ensure survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and gender-responsive approaches are consistently applied.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess service quality.
  • Lead periodic program reviews and adapt approaches.
  • Directly supervise a team of response officers, caseworkers and WGSS psychosocial support facilitators.
  • Design and facilitate technical training curricula for case management and MHPSS staff.
  • Support the professional development of national staff.
  • Ensure caseloads are managed safely and ethically.
  • Oversee delivery of layered MHPSS services.
  • Ensure integration of MHPSS with case management for GBV survivors and other vulnerable individuals.
  • Promote community engagement approaches.
  • Coordinate with IRC's Health team on clinical mental health referral pathways.
  • Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of case management and MHPSS program data.
  • Contribute to the development and review of program indicators, tools, and M&E frameworks.
  • Prepare high-quality program reports.
  • Ensure program activities are captured accurately in IRC's GBVIMS and other data management systems.
  • Represent IRC in relevant coordination forums.
  • Coordinate closely with IRC's Health, and Economic Recovery programs.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with local authorities, community leaders, UN agencies, INGOs, and NNGOs.
  • Participate actively in joint assessments, inter-agency rapid needs assessments, and resource mapping exercises.
  • Promote a culture of staff well-being and support.
  • Ensure mechanisms are in place for staff debriefing, peer support, and access to professional psychological support.
Required Experience

Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in case management and/or MHPSS programming in humanitarian or development contexts, with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior technical role. Demonstrated experience working in conflict-affected or fragile settings. Proven track record in GBV programming, survivor-centered case management, and/or structured MHPSS interventions. Experience supervising, training, and building the capacity of multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree in the same or related fields will be accepted where accompanied by substantial relevant professional experience. Relevant professional certifications in trauma-informed care, GBV case management, or MHPSS are an advantage.
