Overview

The Associate Civil Engineer provides direct technical support to the Supervising Engineer in project operations, covering planning, documentation, construction contract management, site supervision, and quality control.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned civil engineering processes from initiation to completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and technical accuracy.
  • Support the Supervising Engineer in technical, administrative, and financial control of construction works, including budget preparation and analysis.
  • Assist in drafting technical instructions, determinations, variation orders, and specialized contractual documentation.
  • Transmit and manage contract-related information and written correspondence internally.
  • Explain complex procedures, regulations, and requirements to diverse stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the on-site technical supervision of infrastructure works, ensuring adherence to norms, protocols, plans, and technical specifications.
  • Monitor construction quality documentation, execution status, and operational coordination.
  • Proactively ensure all processes meet organizational safety, resilience, and sustainability standards.
  • Track, control, and update the construction schedule, maintaining updated performance and cost records.
  • Prepare monthly project closures by collecting and consolidating field data.
  • Assist in preparing and drafting monthly technical reports for partners and senior management.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, field inspections, and general support activities.
Required Experience
  • Required: Minimum of 6 years of experience (or minimum 2 years if holding a university degree in civil engineering or construction) in construction and/or infrastructure works supervision. Demonstrable experience in the management and execution of infrastructure or general civil projects. Proven experience in the practical application of quality management methodologies, document control, and field project monitoring.
  • Desired: Experience in managing and executing vertical infrastructure projects (buildings, complex structures). Experience with technical software: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Project. Experience in creating dashboards using Google Suite tools for report automation. Previous experience in projects funded by International Organizations or multilateral development institutions.
Qualifications

Required: University Degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field. Secondary Diploma (minimum 6 years of relevant experience).
