Overview

Facilitate direct group psychosocial support interventions for refugees, asylum seekers, and returned Mexicans in Mexico City, focusing on emotional wellbeing, resilience, and support networks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer psychosocial support sessions following IRC methodologies and IASC standards.
  • Facilitate group spaces for identifying strengths and transferable skills to build positive employability narratives.
  • Adapt facilitation to specific group profiles, maintaining an inclusive, participatory, and culturally relevant approach.
  • Identify participants requiring individual attention or referral to specialized mental health services and manage those referrals.
  • Support individualized case management during the initial months of employment to identify emerging needs and prevent early job abandonment.
  • Maintain follow-up communication with participants to monitor their wellbeing during the socioeconomic integration process.
  • Coordinate closely with the ERD team to ensure the psychosocial component enables and complements employability activities.
  • Report to the Project Lead on component progress, field incidents, identified needs, and decisions requiring validation.
  • Independently manage the preparation and updating of materials, facilitation guides, and methodological tools for the PSS component.
  • Record participant data, attendance, and field observations in IRC systems with quality and timeliness.
  • Prepare periodic session reports for the Project Lead, documenting progress, incidents, and identified needs in the field.
Required Experience

Minimum 1 year of professional experience in group facilitation, psychosocial intervention, community work, or supporting vulnerable populations. Experience in autonomous group facilitation and independent field decision-making will be especially valued. Experience with migrant, refugee, returned, or violence victim populations is desirable. Experience in humanitarian or international cooperation contexts is a plus, not indispensable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Pedagogy, Social Sciences, or a related field (essential). Proficiency in office software (intermediate level).

Licenciatura en Psicología, Trabajo Social, Pedagogía, Ciencias Sociales o campo afín (indispensable).
Languages Preferred
Experiencia con poblaciones migrantes, refugiadas, retornadas o víctimas de violencia es deseable. Experiencia en contextos humanitarios o de cooperación internacional es un plus, no indispensable.
