Overview
Provide technical and operational support for IT network maintenance and upgrade works within the Digital and Information Technology Management Section.
Key Responsibilities
- Support for LAN & WLAN Upgrade Works: Provide technical support for installation, configuration, and testing of wireless access points and LAN equipment; assist in upgrading existing network infrastructure; conduct site surveys and signal strength analysis; document configurations, device placements, and test results.
- Assist with Network Troubleshooting, Maintenance, and Monitoring: Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, bandwidth bottlenecks, and device configuration errors; support review and maintenance of firewall rules; document security risks, incidents, and responses; monitor network performance and prepare reports; support routine maintenance tasks, including firmware and software updates; maintain network topology diagrams and device inventories; review security policies and compliance status; support evaluation of security considerations for field devices.
- Other Activities as Needed: Provide general ICT support for other projects; assist with preparation of technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and user guides; participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing activities; support asset management and network equipment inventory updates.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Program are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
Student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Program or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. program. A field of study that is closely related to the type of Internship that you are applying for is required.
