Overview

Provide technical support to the Education Section of EZ Recife in the implementation, monitoring and systematization of results of the UNICEF Seal (RS2) and City Agenda Recife strategies, particularly the School Active Search (SAS) and Education that Protects (ETP) strategies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of the consultancy Work Plan.
  • Systematization of August deliverables of the UNICEF Seal (RS2) in Alagoas, Paraíba and Pernambuco, on the School Active Search (BAE) platform and on the Growing Together Platform (PCJ).
  • Descriptive report of the monthly meeting of the Recife School Active Search Steering Committee.
  • Technical inputs for the Education that Protects (EQP) Action Plan of the Recife Municipal Education Department (SEMED).
  • Finalization of the Education that Protects Action Plan of SEMED Recife.
  • Planning document for the six-monthly School Active Search monitoring workshop with State Departments of Education (SEDUCs) and Undime of Alagoas, Paraíba and Pernambuco.
  • Systematization of the six-monthly School Active Search monitoring workshop.
  • Agenda and supporting materials for the presentation of successful School Active Search experiences at the State Seminar on Quilombola School Education.
  • Systematization of November deliverables of the UNICEF Seal (RS2) on the “Sistema Pesquisas” platform.
  • Support to the review of the EZ Recife Education Annual Work Plan (AWP).
  • Preliminary technical note with the count of beneficiaries reached under the AWP actions.
  • Final technical note with the count of beneficiaries reached under the AWP actions, by state and thematic area.
  • Advocacy roadmap for the opening pedagogical week of the 2027 school year, with content suggestions and supporting materials for the Undime of Alagoas, Paraíba and Pernambuco.
Required Experience

A minimum of 3 (three) years of professional experience in public education policy, preferably in initiatives related to School Active Search, the monitoring of municipal education indicators, or child and adolescent protection within the school environment. Familiarity with UNICEF's results agenda in Education (UNICEF Seal, School Active Search), with the management structure of state and municipal education departments, and with the work of municipal education associations (Undime) will be considered an asset. Prior work experience with international organizations, public bodies or civil society organizations in the Northeast region, particularly in the states of Alagoas, Paraíba and Pernambuco, will be considered an asset.

Qualifications

Completed university degree in Education, Pedagogy, Social Sciences or a related field. A postgraduate qualification (specialization, master's or doctoral degree) in Education will be considered an asset.

Languages Required
Fluent Portuguese (mandatory), both written and spoken, for the preparation of technical outputs and interaction with the UNICEF team.
Languages Preferred
Basic to intermediate knowledge of English will be considered an asset.
Contract Duration
5 months
Work Modality
Consultant will work from home using own equipment and stationery. UNICEF will provide office space for consultative meetings when needed. The consultant will work remotely on a delivery basis.
Remuneration
Consultant’s, travel costs should be included in the consultant’s fee. A financial proposal including the fee for the assignment based on the deliverables and number of days must be submitted. Consultants are asked to stipulate all-inclusive fees, including lump sum, administrative cost, travel cost and subsistence costs, as applicable. The payment will be based on submission of agreed deliverables.
