Overview

Support the numerical modelling of multi-hazard probabilistic risk assessments for Regional Assessment Reports on Disaster Risk Reduction (RAR27), focusing on the use of results in four selected countries to achieve sustainable development goals and advance the implementation of the Sendai Framework.


Key Responsibilities

Support the numerical modelling of multi-hazard probabilistic risk assessments for RAR27, specifically in the use of results in four selected countries to through the achievement of sustainable development goals, advance the implementation of the Sendai Framework.

Required Experience

At least fifteen (15) years of experience in disaster risk reduction and development of regional or global reports is required. Experience in multi-hazard probabilistic risk modelling (including wildfires) is required. Experience in engaging with expert technical stakeholders and peer reviewers is desirable. Experience with at least one United Nations, major government institution or international organization working on probabilistic risk metrics is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in engineering sustainable development, social sciences, disaster risk management, or a related discipline is required. A first level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
