Overview
This role supports operations in the Office of the Special Coordinator on improving the United Nations response to sexual exploitation and abuse, contributing to progress in addressing gaps and challenges in responding to and preventing sexual exploitation and abuse.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports operations in the Office of the Special Coordinator, including substantive and logistical arrangements for official missions and other activities.
- Supports preparation for the Special Coordinator’s speaking engagements, including review of briefing materials.
- Contributes to the development of the updated system-wide Strategy on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and other PSEA projects and processes.
- Assists in monitoring progress and advancing efforts in assigned areas.
- Provides logistical, substantive, and/or facilitation support to meetings.
- Coordinates information-sharing and knowledge-exchange platforms and supports Office correspondence.
- Supports OSCSEA's internal and external information sharing on PSEA matters.
- Contributes to the Office's resource mobilization efforts, coordinating donor reporting, and preparing budget narrative reports/proposals.
- Supports other tasks, as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the area of peace and security, humanitarian affairs and/or political affairs, gender-based violence, sexual exploitation and abuse, development studies or related fields is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience working in the front office of a senior official is required. Experience supporting written correspondence and scheduling with a diverse group of stakeholders is desirable. Experience in drafting reports is desirable.
