Overview

The role involves operating and maintaining building equipment and systems, performing inspections, and conducting repairs to ensure a safe and reliable facility.


Key Responsibilities
  • Operate/maintain distributed building equipment/systems.
  • Perform daily inspections of major building equipment and regularly surveys/inspects all workspaces.
  • Prepare and complete preventive maintenance schedules and reports.
  • Prepare requisitions for maintenance supplies.
  • Assist in identifying potential vendors.
  • Perform regular repair, reconditioning, and preventive maintenance work.
  • Perform regular plumbing and electrical repairs and basic office equipment repairs.
  • Perform welding, forming, and fabrication of metals.
  • Undertakes minor construction and repairs.
  • Installs partitions, changes locks, and replaces glass.
  • Evaluate the extent of repairs required and assist in the preparation of plans and specifications for work requirements.
  • Provide direction to outside contractors and ensure that construction and repair projects are completed in accordance with requirements.
  • Prepare the status of work completed.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned.
Required Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the field of facilities management is required.

Qualifications

Successful completion of a high school diploma in a technical field is required. Demonstrated ability to use a computer is required.

Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of Swahili/Kiswahili is desirable.
Contract Duration
3 Months with possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds.
