Overview

The HR Business Officer role focuses on workforce strategic planning, talent acquisition, and providing HR advisory services to support organizational objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement workforce plans aligned with client group objectives.
  • Provide expertise in job design and classification.
  • Advise on appropriate contract types and facilitate special agreements.
  • Lead HR-related actions and advise on workforce plans.
  • Collaborate to identify, attract, and retain talent and support succession planning.
  • Lead and support recruitment and selection processes.
  • Administer selection procedures and advise staff on rules and regulations.
  • Serve as an HR Representative on selection panels.
  • Advise on entitlements and benefits, ensuring compliance.
  • Support performance management, career progression, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and counterparts.
  • Compile and analyze HR data for workforce reports.
  • Support the development of HR documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation of HR projects and initiatives.
  • Lead and participate in task forces and working groups.
Required Experience

At least five years of progressive experience with international exposure in human resources management, focusing on talent management or administrative law. Proven experience advising senior management teams. Proven experience working with emergency contexts. HR experience in the UN system and/or a multinational environment is desirable. Minimum of two years international experience in human resources management is desirable. Experience in handling sensitive and complex cases is desirable. Experience in country offices is desirable.

Qualifications

Essential: A first level university degree in human resources management, public or business administration, law, social sciences or other related fields. Desirable: Master's degree in human resources management, public or business administration or law.

Remuneration
Annual base salary starting at USD 71,335 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 1492 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
