Overview

The Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Analyst provides programmatic, administrative, and technical support to UNFPA's SRH portfolio in El Salvador. The role assists in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs focused on reproductive health, sexual rights, and maternal health.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in drafting technical inputs, policy briefs, and background documents.
  • Support the review and adaptation of national strategies, norms, and guidelines.
  • Contribute to data collection for investment cases and cost-effectiveness analyses.
  • Track and monitor project activities for integration of gender equality, human rights, and LNOB.
  • Provide technical and logistical support to national counterparts for SRH program implementation.
  • Support the rollout and monitoring of territorial models against adolescent pregnancy.
  • Assist in organizing capacity-building activities, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Help monitor the distribution and availability of SRH commodities and reproductive health kits.
  • Support youth-led and community-based interventions.
  • Collate, organize, and maintain data and information on SRH indicators.
  • Assist in utilizing demographic analysis and disaggregated data.
  • Contribute to the drafting, editing, and dissemination of knowledge products.
  • Maintain the office's SRH documentation system.
  • Participate in technical working groups and inter-agency coordination mechanisms.
  • Support the preparation of documentation for resource mobilization.
  • Maintain collaboration with UN agencies and development partners.
  • Ensure meaningful participation of communities in SRH policies and programmes.
  • Maintain regular communication with subnational and intersectoral partners.
  • Provide technical and operational support for the integration of MISP into national emergency preparedness plans.
  • Assist in monitoring and deploying SRH humanitarian assistance during crises.
  • Conduct routine field monitoring visits.
  • Assist in the financial tracking of projects.
  • Support the review of financial and narrative reports submitted by implementing partners.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be required by UNFPA leadership.
Required Experience

Professional experience at the national level in program management, public health, or sexual and reproductive health. Experience in project implementation, data collection, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks. Familiarity with the national health system context in El Salvador. Experience working with vulnerable or "left-behind" (LNOB) populations. Understanding of human rights-based approaches, maternal health, and adolescent pregnancy prevention. Proficiency in MS Office application (specifically Excel for data tracking). Prior experience within the UN system or an international NGO is considered an asset.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master's degree) in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Health Systems Management, International Development, or a related field is required.
