Overview
Support youth and their families in achieving academic and vocational goals, and social integration through coordination with schools, administrative tasks, and transportation assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend Volunteer/Intern Orientation.
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of various activities, such as after-school tutoring, college prep workshops, and monthly outings or field trips.
- Provide administrative support (phone calls, filing, data entry, collected signed paperwork, etc.).
- Provide transportation for clients and their families to appointments.
- Assist with preschool and school enrollments, including completing paperwork, collecting documents, obtaining parental signatures, and delivering forms to schools.
- Record hours and submit completed timesheet for each month via the IRC’s online Volunteer Dashboard.
Required Experience
- Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree
- Strong interpersonal skills and interest in working with the refugee community
- Occasional evening or weekend availability
- Ownership of a car and a valid driver’s license and car insurance
- Willingness to be flexible and accommodating to client needs
