Overview

The Protection Officer will ensure the set-up, implementation, and impact evaluation of protection interventions, including GBV prevention and community-based protection programming.


Key Responsibilities
  • Technically supervise and support field implementation of Protection Assistants, implementing partner staff, community volunteers, and community-based networks.
  • Identify capacity gaps and propose solutions, delivering capacity-strengthening sessions.
  • Ensure quality of direct service delivery in line with global standards and DRC SOPs.
  • Implement and oversee protection monitoring activities, including data collection.
  • Lead community engagement and communication activities.
  • Support community-based structures by facilitating dialogue and mentoring.
  • Ensure understanding and facilitation of EMAA curriculum and PSS interventions.
  • Support development and contextualization of protection tools and materials.
  • Support and lead capacity-building initiatives.
  • Ensure protection mainstreaming across all project activities.
  • Ensure community mobilizers and focal points represent diverse backgrounds.
  • Contribute to engagement with community volunteers and focal points.
  • Ensure effective and functional referral pathways.
  • Coordinate with relevant protection partners.
  • Assist with logistical and administrative tasks.
  • Support timely and accurate reporting of project activities.
  • Coordinate with the MEAL team to support MEAL activities.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

At least 3-4 years of experience in non-governmental organizations and humanitarian settings, specifically working on protection programming. Demonstrate experience in GBV prevention, community-based and general protection. Experience in providing trainings / facilitating sessions on protection topics. Experience in staff and/or volunteer supervision and team’s management.

Qualifications

University Degree in the field of Psychology, Social Sciences, Humanitarian Affairs, International Law, Development or any other related field.

Salary Range Starting from (p.m.): USD 1,225.00. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for national employees.
