Overview

Responsible for the development and preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, performing resource analysis, and financial reporting within the Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE).


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and support budgetary activities for charge-out rates, customer rates, budgets, multi-year forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Review budget inputs for completeness and compliance, liaising with project managers as needed.
  • Monitor and report on budget execution trends, analyzing expenditure and preparing reports.
  • Perform periodic reviews of commitments, coordinating actions to adjust or clear them.
  • Prepare budget execution reports and related notes for annual financial statements.
  • Develop and maintain statistical analysis and financial forecasts.
  • Produce custom views of budget data for management use.
  • Support project managers in developing accurate cost metrics for proposals.
  • Provide technical advice and financial support to senior management.
  • Support external and internal auditors during financial inspections.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting, budgeting, financial management or auditing.
  • Sound knowledge of financial regulations governing an international organisation or a public sector entity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial spreadsheets.
  • Good working knowledge of financial and ERP systems, such as ORACLE Financial or related corporate platforms.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or related discipline and 3 years post-related experience.
  • Exceptionally, at least 6 years extensive and progressive experience and expertise in duties related to the function of the post may compensate for the lack of a university degree.

Languages Required
A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential.
Languages Preferred
Some knowledge of the other NATO language is desirable. English SLP 4444.
Contract Duration
Three years’ definite duration contract which may be renewed for subsequent periods.

Remuneration
5,879.80 Euro (EUR) Monthly. Salary value as per 2026. Subject to future adjustments in accordance with North Atlantic Council decisions.
