Overview

The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services, ensuring the transport of authorized personnel and delivery of mail and documents. The role also involves day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle.


Key Responsibilities
  • Driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.
  • Meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport including visa and customs formalities arrangement when required.
  • Attending and completing all road safety training relevant to their level and role.
  • Reporting all road safety related incidents in a timely manner.
  • Accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs.
  • Provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
  • Timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, daily check of tires, battery, water levels, brakes, car washing, etc.
  • Ensuring availability of vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle.
  • Ensuring that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.
Required Experience

3 years’ work experience as a driver; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair and maintenance

Qualifications

High School certificate

Other Details
Languages Required
Proficiency in oral and written English
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of any of the local languages in The Gambia such as Mandinka, Wolof, Fula will be an asset.
Contract Duration
1 Year with Possibility for extension
