Overview
The Monitoring Assistant will support the M&E associate and RAM officer in monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support effective program implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the M&E officer in piloting and monitoring baseline, PDM outcome and endline exercises, as well as process and targeting or any other surveys.
- Assist in updating the monitoring schedule and coverage of MMR and RBM.
- Ensure database management at the BT/CO level and maintenance of performance indicator tracking.
- Ensure/supervise the monitoring of TPM activities of Sub-Offices.
- Ensure capacity building and coaching of TPMs.
- Assist in updating distribution schedules and implementing process monitoring, Post Distribution Monitoring, and price monitoring activities.
- Ensure information collection on generic project activity indicators at the Sub-Office and decentralized WFP Antennae.
- Support data provision for BT-level reports (M&E report – ACR).
- Systematically produce monitoring reports for BTs (Monthly, Quarterly, Annual Reports).
- Verify planned food or non-food item movements and distribution, resolve common problems and escalate if necessary.
- Collect and summarize assistance program data, conduct analyses, and prepare reports.
- Liaise with implementing partners and internal colleagues to gather feedback.
- Propose improvements to field monitoring processes and procedures.
- Prepare field mission reports.
- Ensure global guidelines, recommendations, and learning materials are used, best practices and lessons learned are shared and translated into improved tools.
- Ensure audit recommendations/actions are addressed in a timely manner.
Required Experience
5 years of experience in data collection on program results and impacts, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and communicating findings to management, partners, and other stakeholders. Experience in using WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards. Experience in using data analysis software such as SPPS, tableau, ODK, etc. Experience with WFP or the UN system would be an asset. Good command of statistical software (Excel, SPSS, R, Matlab, STATA).
Qualifications
Minimum of a Secondary School Diploma. A post-secondary certificate in a relevant field is an asset in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Economics, or any other related field.
