Overview

The Officer, Communications and Administration will facilitate and support the KNRC Delegation’s communications, public relations, and administrative functions across multiple humanitarian programmes. The role ensures coherent communications and visibility, effective donor engagement, and efficient administrative and operational support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a multi-programme communications and visibility strategy.
  • Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and donor visibility across all programmes.
  • Coordinate with HNSs, IFRC, and KNRC HQ to produce press releases, briefing notes, reports, presentations, beneficiary stories, and multimedia content.
  • Manage the KNRC Delegation’s social media accounts.
  • Prepare communications and PR materials and upload them on social media.
  • Support the organization and management of ceremonial events.
  • Package donor appeals, situation updates, and impact snapshots.
  • Monitor reputational risks in comms and visibility work.
  • Work closely with the IFRC to ensure efficient administration services.
  • Support in organizing ceremonial events and official visits.
  • Provide administrative support to all staff members.
  • Provide translation/interpretation and other necessary support.
  • Adhere to IFRC procurement/finance compliance.
  • Safeguard reputational and compliance risks in admin/logistics.
  • Strengthen partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Support donor/partner engagement.
  • Contribute to donor recognition and advocacy.
  • Facilitate effective information sharing and coordination.
  • Provide daily support to multi-programmes.
  • Coordinate/participate in field visits.
  • Prepare concise implementation summaries, highlights, and lessons learned.
  • Support planning and scheduling and follow up on action points.
  • Contribute to exit/transition strategies and handover projects.
  • Produce closure/impact stories, fact sheets, and audiovisual content.
Required Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in areas of communications, administration, or other relevant areas. Experience in event organization and donor communications/visibility requirement management. Experience in creating compelling content and excavating beneficiary stories. Experience in managing multimedia and social media platforms. Experience in office management and administrative/logistical support. Experience and familiarity with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement or other international humanitarian/development organizations is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, international humanitarian & development, international relations, business administration, or related fields of study.

Languages Required
Fluently spoken and written English and Turkish. Demonstrated core proficiency in (a) digital communication & collaboration, (b) basic digital content creation, (c) digital safety & security, (d) data literacy, and (e) problem solving with technology (including responsible use of AI assistants).
Languages Preferred
Good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic) is preferred.
