Overview
The Programme Analyst will support the implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of the Africa Facility to Support Inclusive Transitions (AFSIT Programme). The role focuses on delivering specific projects and contributing to broader AFSIT activities and the Regional Programme for Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of AFSIT programming and coordinate regional projects.
- Lead and coordinate the development of a civil society toolkit.
- Support the design and implementation of dialogue on Women’s Political Participation in Africa.
- Facilitate the organisation of diaspora dialogues.
- Support coordination and oversight of country-level programme implementation.
- Support the organisation of continental peer exchanges on transitional justice.
- Coordinate support to AU transitional justice women and youth platforms.
- Facilitate coordination with regional institutions and support engagement with national stakeholders.
- Contribute to the implementation of AFSIT programme activities across country-level, regional and knowledge development workstreams.
- Support the identification of emerging priorities and strategic opportunities.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of annual workplans, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Track programme progress against results frameworks and performance indicators.
- Contribute to the preparation of donor reports, briefing notes, and programme updates.
- Ensure proper documentation of programme activities.
- Support engagement with UNDP Country Offices, regional organizations, civil society organizations, and development partners.
- Organize multi-stakeholder meetings, dialogues, workshops, and consultations.
- Contribute to the identification and engagement of new partners and donors.
- Conduct donor mapping and partnership analysis.
- Support the development of knowledge products, policy briefs, analytical reports, and toolkits.
- Conduct background research and stakeholder mapping.
- Support documentation of lessons learned and good practices.
- Assist with preparation of communication materials, event summaries, and programme updates.
- Support financial monitoring and budget tracking.
- Assist with procurement processes, consultant recruitment, and contract management.
- Coordinate with programme and operations teams.
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years (with Master’s degree) or 4 years (with Bachelor’s degree) of relevant work experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects. Experience supporting programme implementation, monitoring, and reporting in an international development context is desired. Experience in African political transitions or governance is an asset. Experience working with the AU, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and civil society organizations is an asset. Previous experience with the UN is an asset. Demonstrated managerial and leadership experience is desired.
Qualifications
Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Political Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Governance, Public Policy or related field is required, or A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
