Overview

The Senior Programme Associate (SBC) will coordinate and support the implementation of social and behaviour change (SBC) activities to improve dietary practices and nutrition outcomes among vulnerable populations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and implementation of SBC activities.
  • Facilitate partnerships and coordination with government stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation and organization of training of trainers, review meetings, and capacity-strengthening activities.
  • Track implementation progress and support resolution of operational bottlenecks.
  • Support field visits, monitoring missions, and programme learning events.
  • Contribute to the preparation of implementation updates, progress notes, briefing materials and reports.
  • Coordinate and manage the process for developing an SBC and marketing strategy for fortified rice commercialization.
  • Facilitate consultations with consumers, factories, private sector actors, government counterparts and development partners.
  • Compile and synthesize research findings, stakeholder feedback and lessons learned.
  • Assist in identifying behavioural barriers and motivators related to fortified rice consumption.
  • Serve as WFP focal point for day-to-day coordination with creative agencies, consultants and research firms.
  • Track deliverables, timelines and workplans and follow up on implementation progress.
  • Review and provide feedback on drafts, campaign concepts, communication materials and research outputs.
  • Support quality assurance and ensure outputs are aligned with WFP standards and project objectives.
  • Support development and adaptation of communication materials and SBC tools.
  • Assist in organizing campaign launches, outreach events, consumer engagement activities and promotional initiatives.
  • Coordinate dissemination and use of SBC materials.
  • Support collection and analysis of monitoring data.
  • Document lessons learned and provide recommendations.
  • Prepare regular progress updates and contribute to donor and management reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that gender, protection, disability inclusion and nutrition considerations are systematically integrated into programme implementation.
  • Adhere to WFP’s Code of Conduct and policies on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), prevention of sexual harassment, abuse and discrimination (SHAD), and safeguarding.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience

At least 7 years of relevant work experience in social and behaviour change, communication for development, nutrition, public health, social marketing, or related programme implementation. Demonstrated experience in engaging communities, workers, private sector actors, local authorities, or implementing partners is required. Experience supporting campaigns or interventions related to nutrition, healthy diets, or food systems is highly desirable. Experience in formative research, campaign development, facilitation, training, or behaviour change communication is an asset. Experience in coordinating service providers, consultants, agencies or implementing partners. Experience supporting research, assessments, surveys or evidence-generation activities.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary education is required; a post-secondary certificate in nutrition, health, social sciences, public policy, or a related field is desirable.
