Overview
This role involves conducting assessments for refugees applying for social transfer assistance and providing support to ensure their eligibility and timely receipt of aid.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts desk study and home visits to refugees applying for Social Transfer Assistance.
- Collects socioeconomic data to determine eligibility for assistance.
- Conducts periodic site reassessments for active recipient cases.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date information on families receiving social transfer assistance.
- Completes social study reports.
- Identifies and refers refugees facing protection risks or in need of additional social work assistance.
- Recommends eligibility for short-term emergency in-kind/cash assistance.
- Follows up on the timely delivery of approved cash and/or in-kind assistance.
- Implements/participates in surveys and studies in the refugee community.
- Participates in workshops and meetings to improve professional knowledge and skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Travels within the Field and is willing and capable to drive an Agency vehicle.
- May be required to undertake professional in-service training.
Required Experience
At least three years' relevant experience in providing social work, psycho-social support or counselling in development/humanitarian programmes in governmental, non-governmental or NGOs organizations is required.
Qualifications
University degree from accredited university in social work, sociology, psychology, guidance and counseling and social anthropology, or other related fields.
