Overview
The UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is seeking an intern to support its Climate Adaptation and Resilience (A&R) programme. The role involves assisting with programme implementation, coordination, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on climate adaptation and resilience finance.
- Synthesize literature, case studies, and financial sector practices.
- Assist with data collection, benchmarking, and briefing material preparation.
- Support the day-to-day coordination and implementation of UNEP FI adaptation programmes.
- Coordinate engagement with member banks, insurers, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Organize webinars, workshops, and consultation calls.
- Prepare meeting materials, presentations, and minutes.
- Lead the drafting and delivery of Adaptation Community of Practice monthly newsletters.
- Support stakeholder mapping, interview coordination, surveys, and consultations.
- Maintain stakeholder databases and support outreach activities.
- Support the development of documents, case studies, and training materials.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of capacity-building activities.
- Assist in incorporating stakeholder feedback into technical outputs.
- Support resource mobilization efforts.
- Undertake special projects aligned with programme priorities.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); OR have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within one year of graduation. Academic background in economics, social sciences, natural sciences, environmental science, public policy, sustainable development, international relations, business administration, finance, or another related field.
