Overview
The Programme Associate (Social Protection) will provide operational support and technical analysis to social protection activities, working under the direct supervision of the National Programme Officer for Social Protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the implementation of social protection initiatives by national institutions and operational partners.
- Support resource management and coordinate with field offices to track implementation and resolve operational issues.
- Support technical activities related to the Unified Social Registry (USR) to facilitate its use in routine and crisis response contexts.
- Contribute to the coordination of the joint WFP-UNICEF Project funded by BMZ/KfW.
- Contribute to technical exchanges with sectoral ministries and national institutions.
- Participate in operational coordination with inter-agency working groups and humanitarian and development partners.
- Contribute to the analysis of programme performance and studies on poverty and vulnerability.
- Contribute to the documentation of good practices and preparation of briefing notes and reports.
- Liaise with other internal WFP units to ensure smooth administrative, logistical, and programmatic processes.
- Contribute to the development of concept notes, mission reports, donor reports, and resource mobilization documents.
- Represent the Social Protection team in technical groups, meetings, and missions with partners.
- Contribute to the integration of gender equality, protection, disability inclusion, and conflict sensitivity into social protection activities.
- Support any necessary activity for the implementation of WFP Chad's social protection portfolio.
Required Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the implementation of social programmes or cash-based food security programmes.
- Proven experience working with government institutions on social policy development or programme implementation.
- Experience in large-scale, multi-partner, multi-sectoral programming.
- Experience working with WFP or another UN agency is required.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary education. A university degree (Bachelor's level minimum) in economics, social sciences, public policy, or an equivalent field would be an asset.
