Overview

Provide advanced technical assistance and demographic expertise for the computation, validation, structural modelling, and narrative write-up of the official Population and Housing Census Thematic Report on Fertility and Nuptiality.


Key Responsibilities
  • Guide the validation, syntax preparation, analysis, indicator construction, and final structural write-up of the report.
  • Model key indicators and analytical dimensions including nuptiality and marriage dynamics, fertility levels, variations, and differentials, adolescent and teenage fertility, and geospatial integration.
  • Execute mandatory operational steps including inception and methodological design, structural outline and dummy tables development, syntax development and mentorship, data validation and indirect adjustments, monograph synthesis and narrative drafting, and policy brief production.
Required Experience

Minimum of 7 years of progressive international experience specialized in advanced demographic analysis, with a proven track record of authoring national-level Census Thematic Monographs or Demographic Profile Reports for UN agencies or National Statistical Offices (NSOs). Direct operational expertise in deploying direct and indirect demographic estimation techniques for fertility analysis. Advanced mastery of statistical analysis packages, including database structure alignment and syntax automation workflows. Direct experience operating within resource-constrained environments or developing states, preferably with specific knowledge of the Southeast Asian demographic transition context. Ability to work independently in a cross-cultural environment and demonstrated capacity to build strong relationships with local counterparts and donor agencies. High-level communication skills especially for transfer of knowledge.

Qualifications

Advanced University Degree (Ph.D. highly preferred, or Master's Degree with equivalent seniority) in Demography, Population Studies, Statistics, Quantitative Sociology, or a highly related economic development discipline.
