Overview
The role involves technically reviewing and proofreading Arabic translations of the Safe at Home approach for the Jordanian context, ensuring alignment with local curricula, and conducting institutional and service mapping for implementation and referral pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in initial meetings and review materials.
- Review and refine Arabic-English terminology glossary and translation style guide.
- Technically review, edit, and proofread Arabic translations against English source materials.
- Correct omissions, mistranslations, and unclear language.
- Ensure appropriateness to the Jordanian context and alignment with relevant principles.
- Document all corrections and adaptations.
- Map relevant governmental institutions, national and local organizations, and service providers.
- Cover GBV and child protection prevention and response interventions.
- Assess service type, target population, geographic coverage, and accessibility.
- Conduct key-informant interviews or stakeholder consultations.
- Identify service gaps, accessibility barriers, and coordination opportunities.
- Review relevant JRF curricula and consult with stakeholders.
- Assess the readiness of the service and institutional environment.
- Provide recommendations for referral strengthening, partnerships, and capacity-building.
- Finalize all materials and outputs.
Required Experience
At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in technical review, curriculum adaptation, GBV, child protection, safeguarding, or related protection programming. Demonstrated experience adapting technical materials to the Jordanian context and aligning content across curricula or training packages. Demonstrated experience conducting institutional or service mapping, stakeholder consultations, referral-pathway analysis, or comparable research in Jordan.
