Overview
The Equipment Security Engineer supports the design, evaluation, qualification, and lifecycle management of mechanical systems and materials used in safeguards equipment, ensuring deployed instrumentation systems meet stringent security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review technical developments in safeguards equipment and evaluate mechanical designs.
- Conduct security and vulnerability assessments of deployed safeguards equipment.
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment, component or system failures.
- Support the operation and technical activities of the Vulnerability Review Laboratory.
- Provide technical input on materials selection, qualification and performance.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of mechanical engineering procedures.
- Provide technical guidance, technical briefings, training activities and expert advice to Safeguards staff.
- Conduct policy and technical gap analyses related to equipment security and information security requirements.
- Support procurement and equipment development processes.
Required Experience
Minimum of five years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineer and systems engineering. Experience in the implementation of nuclear safeguards an asset. Professional experience at the international level an asset.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree - University degree in computer science, engineering or a similar technical area.
