Overview
The Community Mobilizer for legal information and awareness will be equipped with specific legal knowledge to empower and assist communities in understanding, accessing, and using the law to exercise their rights, aiming to improve their social and economic wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend capacity building training.
- Conduct individual and group information and awareness raising sessions on selected legal issues.
- Refer cases for further legal service, counselling, legal assistance or representation to DRC legal staff.
- Ensure referral pathways at community level in accordance with DRC procedures.
- Disseminate updated Service mapping and referral pathways at community level.
- Share protection concerns and safely identify/disclosure and refer individuals facing protection risks.
- Distribute DRC service leaflets.
- Disseminate Complaint Feedback Mechanism/ PSEA hotline.
- Report on weekly/monthly basis on activities conducted.
- Coordinate with the legal officer to arrange an agreed upon schedule and tasks.
- Establish and maintain good relations with targeted community members.
- Conduct Outreach activities to the community.
Required Experience
- Minimum experience, at least 1 year.
- Previous experience with an humanitarian organization preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A university degree in law is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
