Overview

Provide technical support for the development and implementation of GEF chemicals and waste projects, focusing on pollution-free supply chains and integrated programmes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Expression of Interest for UNEP led integrated programme on pollution free child project.
  • Develop Project Formulation Document (PFD) for UNEP led programme on pollution free supply chain.
  • Coordinate with countries for endorsement letters, identify executing agency/ies and submit to GEF.
  • Develop and implement projects in the Caucasus and Central Asia.
  • Assist in other project development activities as required.
Required Experience

At least 3 years of working experience in project management (including project preparation) at the international level is required. Working knowledge and experience of GEF projects (development and supervision) is required. Experience in the implementation of environmental programmes, projects and activities would be an asset.

Qualifications

First level or advanced university degree in a field related to Environmental Sciences (chemistry, chemical engineering, science, environmental studies, environmental engineering, environmental protection) is required.

Fluency in English, including good drafting/writing skills is essential.
Languages Preferred
Fluency in Russian is an asset. Working knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
