Overview
The Protocol Intern will support the UN Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO) in Beijing by assisting with protocol-related engagement with government counterparts and providing support to UN delegations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare draft Note Verbales to government counterparts, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Engage with government counterparts on practical issues related to protocol.
- Support liaison with the UN Country Team on protocol-related matters.
- Support incoming high-level UN delegations with logistics and substantive support.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
