Programme Policy Officer (Partnerships)

Overview

The Programme Policy Officer (Partnerships) role supports the WFP Multi-Country Office for the Pacific in designing, monitoring, implementing, and learning from preparedness and response initiatives. The role also contributes to policy development, strategic planning, and programmatic coherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of projects, plans, and processes, and support project management to define milestones and track progress.
• Liaise with internal and external counterparts to ensure effective collaboration and monitor ongoing projects.
• Support and coordinate the design, implementation, or analysis of data and evidence related to programmes and projects.
• Coordinate MCO level strategic planning processes, including contributions to UN and WFP strategic planning.
• Support the development of programme strategy and supporting narratives.
• Engage partnerships, reporting, and communications colleagues to support quality reporting on programmes and activities.
• Research, analyze, and synthesize relevant information to support scenario planning for El Nino.
• Act as PMCO technical lead on operational partnerships, supporting functions to ensure normative frameworks are fit for purpose.
• Support functions in the identification, development, and management of strategic, operational, and coordinating partnerships.

Required Experience

At least five years of professional experience in supporting the design, reporting, evidence, and learning related to complex programmes. Strong understanding of WFP’s mandate and new Strategic Plan objectives. Experience working with WFP in Asia and Pacific where WFP plays an enabling role. Direct experience with and deep understanding of UN and WFP strategic planning processes. Preferred: Experience working in the Pacific / strong knowledge of WFP’s work in the Pacific; Familiarity with WFP’s localization commitment and approach; Commitment to capacity strengthening.

Qualifications

Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.
