Overview

The Programme Policy Officer (OIM & Communication) will strengthen the analytical, strategic, and reporting functions of the country office, ensuring WFP’s interventions are informed by robust evidence and aligned with corporate standards and national priorities. The role will lead and coordinate all OIM & Communication activities to support evidence-based decision-making and donor reporting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support programme design, implementation and oversight.
  • Provide project management support.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency in data collection, reporting and information management processes.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of systems and tools for operational information management and performance reporting.
  • Provide technical advice and oversight for integration of OIM and programme policies.
  • Oversee collation, validation, and dissemination of operational, political, and humanitarian analysis.
  • Lead the preparation of the Annual Country Report (ACR) and other corporate reporting exercises.
  • Collaborate with counterparts in UN agencies and WFP units to ensure consistency in humanitarian information.
  • Enhance the capacity of WFP staff, partners, and government counterparts to manage operational information.
  • Support the Country Office in emergencies by coordinating Operational Task Forces (OTFs).
  • Contribute to the development and assurance of defined quality standards in all OIM processes and products.
  • Lead the planning, drafting, and dissemination of communications products.
  • Ensure alignment of communications with WFP’s global narrative, donor priorities, and Armenia’s national programme objectives.
  • Oversee monitoring of media and external sources to inform communications strategies.
  • Guarantee adherence to WFP branding and visibility guidelines in all communications outputs.
  • Support staff in developing communications skills.
Required Experience

At least seven years of professional experience in designing and implementing information management systems, analytical products and reporting frameworks, communications, knowledge management, programme implementation or related fields. Demonstrated ability to foster partnerships and work effectively with diverse teams. Strong familiarity with the UN humanitarian system; experience in emergency preparedness and response is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Public Health, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences, or other relevant field.
