Overview
The IT Assistant provides day-to-day technical support to staff and assists in maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, hardware, software, network services, and communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, and standard business software.
- Support users with hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues, ensuring timely resolution through the IT ticketing system.
- Assist in managing user accounts, email services, access permissions, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Support the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of LAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, and internet connectivity.
- Configure and maintain network printers, scanners, and ID card printers.
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory, prepare equipment for new staff, and support onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Assist in maintaining server rooms, UPS systems, CCTV, access control systems, and structured cabling.
- Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance, repairs, and warranty services.
- Follow IT security policies, ensure endpoint protection, and report security incidents or vulnerabilities.
- Prepare basic technical documentation, update asset records, and perform other IT-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Supporting IT specialist in preparing monthly IT reports.
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
Qualifications
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
