Overview
The Project Support Officer will assist in the implementation of activities under the Border Management Branch – Maritime Security Team in Djibouti, focusing on maritime crime and criminal justice.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of programme activities related to Maritime Crime and Criminal Justice in Djibouti;
- Conduct research to identify technical assistance needs for capacity building and develop strategies to reform and strengthen maritime law enforcement and criminal justice authorities;
- Provide input on project/programme and/or budget revisions, preparation and dissemination of costed work plans, terms of reference, and other related project documentation;
- Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions;
- Support engagement with national counterparts in Djibouti to facilitate implementation of capacity building activities;
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities of the Maritime Security Team programme;
- Contribute to the preparation of various written outputs, e.g., draft background papers, briefing notes, analytical notes, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications;
- Provide administrative and substantive support for consultative and other meetings, workshops, conferences;
- Provide administrative action related to the procurement of equipment and services;
- Support field missions to locations in the region where the Maritime Security Team carries out programme activities;
- Perform any other duties as required/assigned.
Required Experience
3 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in management (e.g., logistics and operations) or the government sector, or other relevant programmes; experience working with Government Institutions is an asset; experience with maritime crime is an asset, as is experience working in post-conflict environments and least developed countries is an asset.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human sciences, law, Management Technology, criminology, administration, or areas related to other relevant social sciences.
