Overview

Provide technical support for the implementation and delivery of the NAITS project and assist in the formulation and implementation of FAO programmes and projects in animal health and production sectors.

Tasks Summary

• Provide technical support in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the NAITS project
• Assist in reviewing project-related documents and reports
• Prepare project reports, background papers, and analysis papers
• Assist in leading consultative meetings with stakeholders
• Assist in planning conferences, seminars, study tours, and training workshops
• Provide technical advice regarding the development of policies and strategies in the animal production and health sector
• Perform other related tasks as required

Experience Requirements

• At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in technical cooperation-related activities, policy advice, and analysis relating to food safety, animal production and health
• Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable
• Extent and relevance of experience in technical cooperation-related activities, policy advice, and analysis relating to food and nutrition security, agriculture and rural development, monitoring and evaluation of policies and programmes
• Extent and relevance of experience in working with inter-governmental bodies and multi-disciplinary teams

Qualification Requirements

• Advanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in veterinary medicine, livestock production, or any other discipline relevant to the work of the Organization
• Consultants with bachelor`s degree need two additional years of relevant professional experience

Contract Duration: 220 days on WAE basis for 11 months
