EU Youth Portal Volunteer opportunity: Solidarity Superheroes - Casa Vera Cruz 2026
"Solidarity Superheroes" has as an objective providing learning opportunities in a big local social institution in Aveiro, Portugal that works tirelessly to respond to the needs of the local community. The service lasts for 3 - 7 months and youngsters from any EU country can apply. These youngsters will have a chance to actively participate in resolving community problems and in building local community stronger and more inclusive, by volunteering in Casa Vera Cruz. On their way to becoming "community super-heroes", they will be involved in different sectors (work with children, families, immigrants...), according to their interests, learning needs, and needs of the receiving institution. Weekly, they will be active 35 hours, including their PT classes. Each week 2 consecutive free days + free days. Volunteers should be highly motivated, proactive, and responsible. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements TRAVEL: Travel costs will be calculated according to the Erasmus+ distance calculator and covered up to the limit established depending on the country. ACCOMMODATION: a single or double room (upon availability), in a house shared with other young people. FOOD: will receive a food subsidy of 4€/day plus a free warm lunch (also veg.option) is daily available in the canteen of the institution during the weekdays. TRANSPORTATION: bicycle available. Pocket money 6€/day Training during the activity Taks related - Provided by Casa Vera Cruz. There will be also an on arrival and mid-term training, provided by the Portuguese National Agency. Participant profile In Casa Vera Cruz they are looking for a proactive, responsible, confident and motivated volunteer willing to work primarily with disadvantaged groups of people (with economic obstacles), women victims of domestic violence, children, immigrants. In Casa Vera Cruz they are looking for a volunteer who will not be too confused and demotivated by the language barrier and the dynamics of a big unknown institution and is open to new challenges and circumstances. This specific opportunity is meant for young people with fewer opportunities. If you are facing cultural or social difference, belong to a minority, have economic obstacles, don't hesitate to apply.
