Fondazione Anffas "Giulio Locatelli" Onlus Pordenone, Italy Volunteer opportunity: ESC in FVG - Empower Supportive Communities in Friuli Venezia Giulia
In the project "ESC in FVG" Anffas Onlus Pordenone aims to offer young Europeans the chance to take part in a voluntary activity with people with special needs to develop a volunteering culture. The volunteers will also acquire and develop personal, social and professional skills that will support their social and work inclusion. European volunteers supported by the social carers and by the local volunteers will perform educational and recreational activities participating in art, music and movement inclusive workshops with people with special needs and students. In this way they will promote a more inclusive community addressed to the most excluded people. Volunteers will also act as Peers Educators towards the students Anffas Pordenone meets to promote the European Solidarity Corps and towards the Italian volunteers Anffas prepares to go abroad. Learning a new language and a new culture is not a chance only for the Eu Volunteers but also for the people they meet. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Volunteers will be lodged in the brand new social house in the same lot of the "Giulio Locatelli" Centre. Will get board through the external canteen or will get the amount of the lunch ticket if they do not eat in the Centre. A bike will be given under a 40€ caution and if they prefer going to language courses by bus tickets will be reimboursed. Anffas will also take care of cultural trips in Friuli Venezia and Veneto. Training during the activity Volunteers will be trained in all the manual workshops organized in the Centre, in the relational approach to the different disabilities, they will attend the Italian language course for all the lenght of the project, Summer break excluded, they will be trained in digital storytelling. They will take part in the ESC training cycle. Participant profile Young responsible girl/boy willing to make the difference in people with disability's life, Covid vaccinated, willing to work in a social environment even without previous experience, willing to promote solidarity and tolerance, willing to feel useful, eager to learn new things, capable of being flexible and open minded, willing to work in team, willing to act as peer educators for students, motivated for an active citizenship and to take part to all the phases of the project, willing to work in inclusive projects, motivated to respect the rules and willing to propose new ideas and activities.
