Provides technical and policy expertise to support FAO's work on fishing operations and technology, focusing on responsible fishing methods and innovations.
Tasks Summary
- Produce and disseminate information on responsible fishing methods, gears, equipment, fishing technologies, innovations, and fishing operations
- Develop technical, analytical, monitoring, and reporting frameworks
- Design and conduct research, data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting
- Respond to country requests for technical and policy assistance
- Provide technical advice, assistance, and solutions to Decentralized Offices
- Provide technical backstopping to field projects
- Collaborate in and ensure the quality/effectiveness of capacity development and knowledge sharing activities
Experience Requirements
- Experience in fishing operations and technology
- Experience in the implementation of Chapter 8 (Fishing Operations) of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries
