Overview
Supports the Under-Secretary-General in the discharge of responsibilities related to OIOS strategic direction, programme planning, resource management, monitoring, reporting, coordination, and representation. Manages the staff and resources of the Office of the Under-Secretary-General.
Tasks Summary
- Provides strategic guidance on OIOS policy development, programme planning, budgeting, human and financial resource management, administration, and risk management.
- Coordinates and oversees the preparation of OIOS strategic and programme plans and budgets, monitors implementation, and coordinates reporting.
- Supports the development of OIOS operational policies and procedures and monitors their implementation.
- Ensures effective delegation of authority, monitors resource utilization, oversees risk management initiatives, and enhances staff accountability.
- Assists OIOS senior leaders in coordinating activities of OIOS Divisions and evaluating OIOS performance.
- Fosters relations and provides support and advice to the Under-Secretary-General and OIOS senior leaders in their interactions with various stakeholders.
- Provides leadership and support to OUSG staff.
- Leads efforts to collect and analyze data for planning, decision-making, presentation, and reporting.
- Carries out special assignments as requested.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, administration, logistics, financial management, budget or related field is required.
- Proven track record of managing programmes, people and resources, and technical leadership in audit, investigation, and/or inspection and evaluation functions in large international organizations is required.
- Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or other relevant related areas.
- A first-level university degree in combination with extensive qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage.
- Oversight-related professional certifications and qualifications is desirable.
