Overview

Provide administrative support in human resource management, budget and finance, and general administration for the UN-Habitat Afghanistan country office. Ensure compliance with UN rules and procedures.


Tasks Summary
  • Undertake HR activities including recruitment, placement, promotion, performance appraisal, job classification, and separation of staff.
  • Oversee day-to-day HR processes and provide information on conditions of service.
  • Coordinate with UNOPS and third-party contractors on staff issues.
  • Assist in developing the unit's work program and budget, and monitor budget/work program compliance.
  • Supervise support staff and ensure compliance with corporate information management.
  • Contribute to data collection, analysis, and identification of trends for decision-making.
  • Perform other administrative duties such as travel, procurement, and office space planning.

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in administration, human resources, budget and finance, or related area.
  • Experience working with relevant UN Departments or similar organizations, Agencies and Funds in fund or programme management.
  • Experience in formulating UN or similar international organization work programmes and budget planning.
  • Experience in a multicultural environment and within a UN or similar organization.
  • Experience and expertise in responding to audit questions and implementing recommendations is desirable.
  • One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Qualification Requirements
  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Proven experience of data collection and data analysis skills for identification of trends and evidence-based decision making is desirable.

Contract Duration: Initial period of one year and may be subject to extension.
